Welcome to Zululand Explorers. By accessing our website and using our services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before making a booking or using our website.

1. About Our Services

Zululand Explorers is a safari tour operator based in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We provide walking safari trails, wilderness experiences, guide training programmes, and related adventure tourism services across Northern KwaZulu-Natal and Southern Mozambique. All experiences are led by FGASA-certified professional trails guides.

2. Bookings & Reservations

All safari bookings are subject to availability. A booking is considered confirmed only once we have received your deposit and sent a written confirmation. By confirming a booking, you agree to the following:

• A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The deposit amount will be specified in your quote.
• The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the start date of your safari, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated. Prices may be subject to change prior to booking confirmation.
• You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided at the time of booking is accurate and complete.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. The following cancellation terms apply unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation:

Zululand Explorers reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a safari due to severe weather, safety concerns, or insufficient participant numbers. In such cases, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.

4. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and loss of personal belongings. Safari activities take place in remote wilderness areas where medical facilities may not be immediately accessible. Zululand Explorers is not liable for any costs arising from medical emergencies, evacuations, or trip interruptions.

5. Health, Fitness & Medical Requirements

Participation in our walking safari trails requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. You are responsible for:

• Disclosing any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect your participation
• Ensuring you have the necessary vaccinations and medications for travel to South Africa and neighbouring countries (consult a travel health professional)
• Bringing adequate personal medication for the duration of your safari

We reserve the right to refuse participation if we believe it poses a safety risk to you or the group.

6. Assumption of Risk & Wildlife Safety

Safari activities take place in natural wilderness areas with free-roaming wildlife, including potentially dangerous animals. By participating in our experiences, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved, including but not limited to:

• Encounters with wild animals in their natural habitat
• Rough terrain, extreme weather, and remote locations
• Limited access to medical facilities and communication networks

Our guides are highly trained professionals with extensive experience. Guests must follow all safety instructions given by guides at all times. Failure to comply with safety instructions may result in removal from the activity without refund.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Zululand Explorers, its owners, employees, and guides shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation in our safari experiences, including injury, illness, loss of property, or death. This does not affect any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot be excluded by agreement.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, photographs, logos, and design, is the property of Zululand Explorers and is protected by South African copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written consent.

9. Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate enquiries and bookings. While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information presented, itineraries, pricing, and availability may change without notice. We are not liable for errors or omissions on the website. The confirmed details in your booking confirmation take precedence over any information on the website.

10. Photography & Media

Photographs and videos may be taken during safari experiences for promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to the use of such media unless you notify us in writing before the start of your safari. You retain all rights to your own photographs and are welcome to share your experience on social media.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
